The Voting Rights Act Conference was a great success.
Thank you to everyone who attended and participated.

Information about the conference, including agenda, is below.

Voting Rights Act Conference

Join us as we address a critical issue that affects the future of the state’s democracy – the reauthorization of three important provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA).  These provisions will expire in 2007 unless Congress votes to renew them.

According to Rosalind Gold, Senior Director of Policy, Research and Advocacy for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, “The VRA has played a key role in the political empowerment of California’s diverse ethnic communities.  Our February 4 conference will provide civic and grassroots leaders with the tools they need to mobilize throughout the state for the reauthorization of legislation that is crucial for our continued political progress.”
